NAET Hawaii » Why Take Digestive Enzymes

Why Take Digestive Enzymes?

Answer: Because they can make a huge difference in reducing your sensitivity symptoms immediately!

(After NAET I have seen that digestive enzymes are not as imperative.)

Food processing removes the natural enzymes that are present in foods.  This is because in destroying the digestive enzymes in foods the shelf life of these foods is lengthened dramatically.  Another important reason for the necessity t take digestive enzymes with your meals is because many people do not chew their food adequately.

As Ghandi said: "Chew your liquids and drink your food!"

What happens when I don’t have enough enzymes (due to food processing) or do not chew your food thoroughly?

  1. You absorb large chunks of proteins into your bloodstream before they are broken down to their component amino acids. Your immune system then has to treat them as outside invaders and uses up its energy completing the digestion of those foods. This can exhaust your immune system while contributing to food sensitivities. If you check you may find that your temperature goes up around 40 minutes after eating because your immune system has had to make up for a weak digestive system.
  2. You become deficient in proteins, carbohydrates, and/or fats, depending on which enzymes you are missing.
  3. You then crave the missing nutrient (this can lead to overeating).
  4. By eating excessive amounts of the nutrient you can’t digest, it can build up in your colon and become toxic.
  5. Your body works poorly because of the nutritional deficiencies. You feel poorly and have digestive disturbances.

All in all, you feel lousy. Your stomach hurts, and you may have specific food cravings. Sound familiar?

Which Digestive Enzyme Should I Take?

It is optimal to be muscle tested to determine which enzyme is the most appropriate for you. Some people have more trouble digesting fats, some have trouble carbohydrates, some have trouble with proteins, and some may have a sensitive stomach which needs a different enzyme formulation. We can test and find the enzyme formula that is best for your particular needs. Most patients find that taking digestive enzymes with their meals significantly reduces their sensitivity symptoms before treatment is given.
