During treatment in our office we sometimes come across scars that need therapy in order for you to fully heal. We will work on these when they come up.
Treating a scar can have a profound impact on one’s health and the treatment outcomes of any discipline. Dietrich Klinghardt, M.D., PhD, a German born pain specialist practicing in the United States, discovered the effect of treating scar tissue for benefit of the whole body.
All cells have an electrical potential across their cell membranes. Cells of a scar have lost their normal electrical potential which may cause an interference of normal functioning. This can disturb nerve fibers and impact the overall autonomic nervous system. The autonomic nervous system controls your body’s healing capability.
Scars can also disrupt the meridian system when they cross a meridian or acupuncture point. By crossing a meridian, or lying along its course, the scar impacts the energy flow throughout that meridian. Even small scars (especially around the midline of the body) can have a weighty effect. C-section, episiotomy, circumcision, vasectomy scars, and even the navel are examples of scars in the midline that cross the midline of the body.
In our office, we test to see which scars you may have that are interfering with your body’s ability to function and heal optimally. The scars that are affecting you are treated with laser or by rubbing with organic wheat germ oil or sesame seed oil. The patient rubs the scar with the oil once or twice per day for a period of time, usually 30-90 days. Laser treatment, and/or use of the oils restore normal ionic function of the tissue and normal energy flow through the meridian system.
Holes in the body can behave like scars especially if they are along the midline of the body such as pierced navels, nose rings, and tongue rings. Navel rings almost always have a deleterious effect as they not only cross and disrupt the energy flow along the Conceptual Vessel, but they are metal and can have an electromagnetic effect. Usually this jewelry must be removed and the navel and piercing is treated as a scar. Pierced ears can also have a strong effect on the meridian system as the ear is a microcosm of the body and it’s hard to have a piercing there that does not pierce an acupuncture point. Tattoos, stretch marks, and burns can also have this effect.
